SPYY – Technology for Players

Zannix and the 2010 Asia Pacific Championships
Here’s my first blog entry for SPYY ![]()

Last AP08 was a nightmare! I traveled all the way to Singapore and couldn’t even get myself into finals. I ranked 13th in the prelims and only 12 made it through. Half a point more would have got me into finals. Almost 16 months later, 24th March, 2010, I was sitting at the Hong Kong Airport waiting for my flight to AP10. This year, I wasn’t expecting anything more than to barely squeeze into the final list after seeing the list of my prelim competitors: Ryosuke Iwasawa, Takahiro Izuka, Kentaro Mannen, Kota, Kengo Kido, Rei, Takeshi Matsuura and Tatsuya Fujisaka… almost a list from 2nd to 6th placing at the Japan Nationals.

Finally I succeeded in placing 5th in the prelim and 8th in final. That was a WOW result for me! I personally don’t put much emphasis on the results anyway. AP10 is a place where players from all over the Asia meet. Our language was no longer a barrier as long as we are all holding a yoyo.
A big thanks to Spinworkx, who held such a great event. Thanks to Japan, Brunei, China, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Indoesia, Philippines, Taiwan and Australia. Last be not the least, well done, Hong Kong!

Yeah, we all love yoyoing!
